Inside Canberra Airport's all-new Qantas lounges

This weekend's opening of the new Canberra Airport terminal saw the debut of three all-new Qantas lounges: the Qantas Club, Business Lounge and Chairman's Lounge.

With a combined area 4,500 square metres they encompass the same space as their Sydney counterparts. The 482-seat Qantas Club is Australia's second largest, just behind Sydney.

More importantly, the Qantas Club and Qantas Business Lounge are flagships for airline's 'new domestic experience' program which will be officially launched this Thursday November 18th, some of which is already on offer at the Sydney domestic business lounge.

Unlike other lounges which must be upgraded piecemeal while remaining open for business, the opportunity to build both of the new Canberra lounges from scratch allowed Qantas to implement everything from the new furniture, design and fitout to the 'Neil Perry-designed' menu.

This includes more fresh preparation of food at the lounges rather than off-site, high quality ingredients and some local sourcing of produce.

After attending the opening of the new Canberra Airport terminal on Sunday, Australian Business Traveller toured these impressive new lounges and snapped off plenty of pics to bring you these two photo-galleries of the Canberra Qantas Club and Canberra Qantas Business Lounge.
