BlackBerry app of the week: Dropbox

BlackBerry app of the week: Dropbox

Dropbox is an incredibly useful free app that lets you use your BlackBerry to access files stored on your home or work computer.

You start by installing the Dropbox software on your Windows or Mac computer, and drag selected files into the Dropbox folder which the software creates. Those files are automatically uploaded to a Dropbox server. Then you add the Dropbox app onto your BlackBerry to access those files.

There are also Dropbox apps for other devices such as the iPad, and you can even run Dropbox on several computers, so that you can access those files from any device you use.

You can even set files as 'favourites' that are automatically downloaded and stored on the BlackBerry so they can be viewed later without incurring download fees. This is a great way for travellers to store city maps and key travel details on their BlackBerry.

Dropbox for BlackBerry is a free download from the Dropbox website. You'll also need to grab the Windows or Mac version depending on what type of PC you use.
