I need just 3000 status credits to get to Qantas Lifetime Gold. Any suggestions on fast/cheap (as if) ways to get there in the next year or two? Ideas for itineraries or strategies ? (other than the periodic double SC promotions).

Earlier this year when the DSC offer came out there was also a discount flights to NZ. For $1026 you could snap up BNE-MEL-CHC return, yielding 560 SCs. So, for $5,130, you could get 2,800 SCs. That’s pretty close to to 3,000, so you could supplement it with another trip to NZ or do something else.

If there is DSC and you actually need or want to fly/travel, then it is a great value.
If your normal travel pattern gives you Platinum, then you will be LTG in less than 3 years, enjoy the journey :-)
