Delta Air Lines is opening a second Delta One business class lounge at LAX, and Executive Traveller understands the welcome mat could be rolled out by the end of this month.

The new Delta One lounge is located at Terminal 2, which sits across from the current T3 lounge in Delta’s modern LAX Sky Way precinct.

It’s expected the Delta One LAX T2 lounge will cater more for premium domestic routes such as Delta One transcontinental services to New York, Atlanta, Boston and Washington, complementing a more international focus for the T3 lounge.

Executive Traveller understands the T2 lounge is around half to two-thirds the size of the T3 lounge, and with a different look to its T3 sibling.

Happily, the new LAX T2 lounge will still offer the same premium dining which has quickly become a hallmark of the Delta One experience.

And it’s just the first stage in a revamp of the LAX T2 loungescape, which will also include the opening of “a brand-new Terminal 2 Delta Sky Club”, Delta has confirmed.

“This new space brings the signature Delta One Lounge full-service dining experience to Terminal 2, with interior design enhancements planned as part of a full transformation in 2028”, the airline said in a statement.

It’s not known whether the new Delta One LAX T2 lounge will open in a temporary location and later be expanded into adjacent space, or if the lounge will be completely relocated to a larger and permanent location come 2028.

However, online speculation is that Delta will be taking over the former Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse at T2.

“In 2028 the Terminal 2 Delta One Lounge will undergo its full transformation and will open following its full renovation.”

“Guests will enjoy the same premium curb-to-cloud journey complete with elevated Delta One check-in, private security and transportation straight to the lounge.”

“These openings jumpstart a multi-year investment as Delta gears up for the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games,” of which the airline is a marque partner.

Delta is certainly on a roll at LAX, which serves as its West Coast hub and has seen a US$2.3 billion investment in the Sky Way consolidation of Terminals 2 and 3.

Direct Airbus A350 flights between LAX and Hong Kong will launch this month, alongside triple-daily flights to Chicago; reports suggest non-stop flights to Auckland, Manila and even London are also on the map.

“The new Delta One Lounge in Terminal 2 reflects this momentum, supporting a growing premium customer base traveling both long-haul internationally and on key domestic routes,” Delta said.
