My beloved Bose QC20 ear buds died on a recent journey after years of heavy use. I have some new wireless earbuds but prefer to also have a set of wired earbuds for long haul travel to ensure I can connect to the inflight entertainment and allow for charging of my wireless earbuds buds during the flight. I also prefer sleeping with wired ear buds for easy retrieval if one falls out.
The problem is Bose have discontinued all wired earbuds, so as a Bose fan boy, this leaves me in a bit of a predicament.
Can anyone recommend a set of noise cancelling wired ear buds?
I feel your pain, Mr T! I'm a longtime fan of my compact little QC20s, they still have a place in my carry-on bag but Bose has literally 'cut the cable' and sadly all the other decent 'name' brands appear to have done likewise :(
Thanks all. I had found some available online but was confused by the description as to whether they were new or pre-owned:
Condition: Almost all items like new Reconditioned – all original parts without retail packaging and comes with one year warranty. Most of the headphones are open box never used
I love mine as well and replaced them last year after leaving them behind on the plane sadly. I noticed Dick Smith have them available for $229 so there must be surplus stock locally,
I also feel your pain MrT. I keep my QC20 wired earbuds for flights only these days to save wear and tear. Clumsy battery dongle and annoying airline adaptor not withstanding.
I now use Bose QC Earbuds II (wireless) for everyday. While the second gen of these wireless earbuds are smaller and more comfortable than the earlier iteration, and have excellent noise cancelling and programmable controls, they are not as comfortable as the QC20's to sleep in, nor have the amazing noise cancelling duration on a single charge - with or without audio pumping through.
And, most phones these days don't have a headphone jack port either, so listening to podcasts etc on a flight would be problematic without the wireless ones. But drop them at your peril! Dark coloured earbuds dropped into the footwell of an economy seat flight - not recommended!

There is a range of Bose QC20s available on eBay, some new some used, some in Australia or some from China. About $150 to $250.
