Hi all, it seems like Qantas has made a sneaky change to their loyalty reward (8,000 points or 50 status credits),
The 50 status credits now only counts towards obtaining lifetime gold, silver or platinum status. A real kick in the teeth to loyal frequent flyers, I for one have historically used the 50 status credits to retain platinum or help me move up a tier, I don't recall reading anything about this change either.
Really disappointing by Qantas, it feels like we are constantly on a "one step forward, two steps back" journey with them at the moment.
"When members choose to receive Loyalty Bonus Status Credits, these Status Credits will count towards reaching and keeping Silver, Gold and Platinum, as well as reaching Lifetime Silver, Gold and Platinum. When chosen before 31 December 2024, Loyalty Bonus Status Credits will count towards reaching and keeping Platinum One." ref: https://help.qantas.com/support/s/article/Frequent-Flyer-Loyalty-Bonus

Hi nige00180, it won't let me post a picture but yesterday when picking my reward it stated "50 status credits towards lifetime status" or "8,000 Qantas points".
@oneworld-flyer - are you Platinum One? If so the above post by nige00180 would be correct as the loyalty bonus no longer counts towards retaining Platinum One. But it should still count towards retaining the lower tiers.
