Hey I am a VA silver member, about to become Gold. Will I receive a pro rata refund of the 330 I paid about 2 months ago for lounge memership when I achieve gold later this week?

Wow - you paid for it.

In the past pro-rata refunds were the case, however the T&Cs changed - see 3(j) https://www.virginaustralia.com/au/en/information/domestic-and-short-haul-international/lounge-terms-and-conditions/.

Never hurts to ask though.

I was about to answer Yes, as this was the case a couple of years ago and confirmed on another Forum by a Virgin Rep, but reading the new T&Cs - specifically Clause 3J.

"j) Virgin Australia does not provide refunds or extensions as a result of paid Lounge Members becoming eligible for Lounge access by virtue of their status in the Velocity program."

On VA - No, and based on the above you don't even get to roll the months.

On QF - No... The remaining months will be kept on hold in case you ever drop back to Silver.  Even if you reach Lifetime Gold.

It was as such about 1 year ago so I think you may still get a refund.
