CX Asiamiles redemption - I'm looking to transfer my AMEX rewards points to Asiamiles as the point requirement for a one-way J Class seat seems to be quite low (DEL - HKG - SYD) was about 70,000 - however, before I do so, I was wondering if anyone has had any experience redeeming asiamiles before? Is redeeming relatively easier than say QF? Is there a larger quantity of rewards seats available - especially in Dec / Jan period?

On their website you can book for 360 in advance, and from looking at their system, DEL-HKG-SYD is available on:

Dec 1-2, 8-10, 15-16, 19, 21, 23-26, 28-31

Jan 1-2

So there's decent availability, and as long as you're flexible and book early you'll get a seat.

Bear in mind, some of those DEL-HKG routes seem to take CX708, which goes via BKK.

I have transfed poinys from my Westpac card to asia miles and then made a first class booking with no problems. I booked about 5 months in advanced and I recall most days were availabe at that time.
