I am looking to book a trip to the US using FF points. I'm currently only a Bronze FF but i am considering joining the Qantas Club. Does anyone know if join the QF Club before i book that it will give me a greater choice of seats and seat classes?
Pity you are using QF points. For 140,000 points (SYD-NYC) you could be flying business class on UNITED/AIR NEW ZEALAND. For the same number of points on QF it is 240,000 - a complete rip off. I don't think intrinsically buying a QC membership helps with improved seat allocation - your ticket and FF status determines that. Also with QF charging for exit rows in coach, that rules out that benefit.
