Did any Etihad Guest Gold holders get an email?

Did any Etihad Guest Gold holders get an email? It stated that if you booked an eligible flight, you would get double points(economy) or triple points(Biz or 1st) and retain Gold status. Has anyone had this type of offer before? The first sentence in the emails says:

"Etihad Guest is pleased to offer you the opportunity to retain your Gold status." You have to register your Guest member number.

Do you think it means by booking a flight and earning Tier miles, this may push you over the required amount or do you think it means, book a flight during this promotion and you WILL retain Gold status?

I did get that email SaltyJ although mine says attain not retain.

And yes the multiplier applies to point miles AND Tier credit miles (bonus points and accelerated tier attainment/retention)

I think the retain is based on the return flight examples listed in the email (that is not just any old flight will do, but it doesn't have to be the example flights - just based on whatever tier points you need).

What do you think it means in the T&C's that " No bonus tier segments will be credited"?
