Wanting to fly on the new A330-300 Qantas Business Suites from Sydney to Hong Kong.

Wanting to fly on the new A330-300 Qantas Business Suites from Sydney to Hong Kong. Does anyone know what flights Qantas are using these upgraded planes on? Currently looking at Flights QF117 and QF118 hoping these flights boast the new business class suites, Anyone with information? It would be much appreciated. Thank you.....

Can't help with that, but Caveat Emptor with Qantas. I booked my family (4) on Business Class on QF 111 Perth to Auckland on Christmas day to get the lay-flat beds on the red-eye night flight only to discover it was a 7+ hour International flight on an un-reconfigured Australian Domestic plane. I booked 2-3 months in advance and seat plan was showing new plane all the way to the day before tak-off. So a total rip-off and a very sub-standard product to get and board and discover this old rubbish. So watch out you don't get conned by Qantas.But there again, we are only Perth FF so you won't get that treatment living in Sydney!

Until the fleet is finished it's refurbishment, there are no guarantees you'll get a refurbished plane. Nothing to do with Perth, only so many planes to go around.

Dont be booking unless your comfortable flying on a sky bed 1. 

Seems these seasonal PER-AUK flights are the domestic version of the A330-200, so far from Skybed 1.  It could be that QF shuffle the allocation if they can sell the extra J seats.  Whatever the process, as said already, until all the upgrades are done there will be disappointed J customers.

True.  But the OP was talking about HKG and as far as I know, you won't he getting a domestic seat there. 

I belive that QF would not send an un refurbished A330 to HKG. Considering that they fly an Upgraded B747 from Sydney and upgraded A330 from MEL & BNE.

They don't fly refurbished A330s on every single flight on those routes... nor is there a guarantee that you'll get an upgraded 747 to HKG. Until the refurbishment program is complete you can always get unlucky. 

Currently, 7 out of 10 A330-300 are finished. And 9 of 18 A330-200 are done. There are also 2 non refurbished 747s flying. 

That is exactly what they do, you clearly havent flown them in a while and are throwing away presumptive statements

Hutch, I'd not have been too unhappy with Skybed 1 on our Perth-Auckland redeye flight on Christmas day.  But the plane we were on was an Australian domestic version of the A330-200 with Business Class Seating that is not even up to the standard of international  "Premium Economy". In fact, row 23 A - 23H in the economy cabin is a better product that the J-class on this plane!!! It was the most woeful flying experinece I've had in 30 years of regular travel. A true disapointment. So watch out Qantas travellers if you're booking and paying for J-class on these flights. I've learned my lesson.

I know you didn't get sky bed 1. You got the very basic domestic J seat.

But the OP is flying to HKG and whilst a possibility, it is very very very unlikely that QF will send it to Hong Kong.
