Not a question, but VA's check-in system is down again. Tues 2nd fen, 8:15am. Just dropped a friend off at MEL and cues were out the door and up to the international terminal. Ground staff everywhere and constant announcements saying something to the effect of "the system has crashed" and that they were checking in selected flights as they could, focusing on the golden triangle.

This time, FlOptus were involved. (Yes I use Optus on my mobile so I am not being unfair)
It is kind of embarrassing that when an ISP goes down they don't have back up connection.

Cheaper to deal with the chance of an IT failure than have 24/7 redundancy.
