Hi  - I'm able to select 4 economy seats upstairs with qantas a380 in economy in rows 32-34 (seats d-g): as I've my status class has moved up to platinum..  row 32 is in front of the bulkhead and has the screens in the armrests...  I am thinking with no rows in front we wouldnt have the issue of reclining passengers in front and more knee space on a long return trip MEL - LHR....  would appreciate any views on this please vs say siting in row 34 where i was currently seated...  thanks.

Personally if not seated at 32A or 32K I prefer the rows 33-34. I like the ability to stretch my legs under the seat in front. With 32 D-G, while there is no one reclining in front, you can't really stretch your legs.

32A and K has that storage space that doubles up as a leg rest, if you angle your body right.

I travelled on the QF11 service from SYD to JFK via LAX and sat in 32A on the A380 leg operating the SYD-LAX segment. The pluses here are the small Economy Class cabin, slightly more personalized service from the crew (one of the nicer flight attendants even brought us some snacks from Premium Economy mid-way through the flight), the above mentioned storage space under the window, and the whisper quietness, despite being at the very back and behind the engines. It's an odd layout and a bit of an unusual cabin but I thought it was great and a comfortable (for Economy) way to travel 14 hours 30 minutes.

thanks for your replies... I had weighed up being able to stretch the legs (in row 34 where we were) vs the benefit of not having someone recline the chair (in row 32)...  we ended up going for row 32 as I prefer the later benefit..   unfortunately no seats available on the side seats as would have taken them...  but feeling good as I have selected them both ways...  given the return flight is 3 weeks later if we find it a bit tight might be able to change it back on the return leg...
