Don't ask about Beijing Capital. They use exactly the same plane that Hainan uses for Australian routes.

Both were A330-200 with 2-2-2 fully flat business class, unless Hainan upgrade their plane to Dreamliner with 1-2-1 reverse herringbone.

I don't know about which seat does Sichuan have, however.

Thanks BtAus did you fly them at all in business?

Any comments on service etc? I am leaning towards Hainan, I see they use the 787 to Canada

I haven't flown either, but  Beijing Capital is actually part of the same parent company (HNA Group) that Hainan airlines is a part of so I guess overall standards would likely be similar to Hainan - a 5 star airline and best of the big 4 Chinese carriers. My suggestion would be to check online seat and service review sites and they'll give you more insights.

On the other hand I've only heard average things about Sichuan airlines.

With ~$2k business class return MEL PEK its not too bad. Does capital airlines use the same lounge as Hainan in PEK?

Sichuan Airlines is my choice of going home to Chengdu. Business class on A330 is 2-2-2 layout. Not full flat bed! Only angle lie flat. They use QF business class lounge at MEL.

With $2k ticket price, don't expect QR service or amenities. Get on, eat, sleep, wake up, eat, and land.
