Samsonite’s new Zipprix FT has bag tracking built right in

Losing luggage is one of travel’s more reliable sources of anxiety.

Plenty of frequent flyers have taken to dropping an AirTag or similar Bluetooth tracker into their bags as a workaround – but that means remembering to charge it and pack it.

Samsonite’s new Zipprix FT collection takes a cleaner approach: a tracker is built directly into the case.

The integrated Waypoint smart tag works with both Apple Find My and Google Find Hub, letting you track your bag on a map via your phone.

If your case has been left behind somewhere unfamiliar, you’ll get a notification.

You can play a sound to locate it nearby, share its location with another person, or – if the worst happens – display a message for whoever finds it.

Location data is encrypted through Apple and Google’s own networks, meaning Samsonite has no access to it.

Beyond Waypoint, the Zipprix FT is a well-specified hard-shell in its own right.

The 55cm carry-on features a front-access pocket with a dedicated 14-inch laptop compartment – genuinely useful for quickly pulling out your notebook on the go – along with a top-opening flat design that gives full access to the interior even in tight spaces.

The expandable main compartment adds packing volume when you need it, and the case is built from high-grade polycarbonate with double ball-bearing wheels, an anti-theft security zipper and a TSA combination lock.

For all that functionality, a subtle two-tone finish keeps things from looking too utilitarian.

The Samsonte Zipprix FT collection is available in three sizes – a 55cm carry-on and 68cm and 75cm check-in options – all in gunmetal.

Pricing starts at A$549 for the carry-on, A$635 for the 68cm and A$699 for the 75cm, with complimentary personalisation included.
