Hello to all, My partner and I are planning on travelling on Cathay Pacific from CNS to CDG. We want to experience travelling one of the legs HKG to CDG or vice-verse in first class with the other legs of the trip in business. My question is if we fly CDG-HKG in first and HKG to CNS in business am I still eligible to use the Cathay first class lounges during the stopover? If not we will use the first class leg HKG-CDG. I cannot seem to find the answer on the Cathay website.
Thanks

Unless you have eligibility to enter the first-class departure lounge as a Cathay Pacific Marco Polo Club Diamond or OneWorld Emerald frequent flyer, then your entry would be restricted to the time preceding your departure on a Cathay flight in first class. So HKG-CDG according to your plan. If flying in first class CDG-HKG, you would be eligible to use the Cathay arrival lounge in HKG, but that's not as good as a couple of hours in the departure lounge...

yeah to  you can use it if your connecting with in 24hours from you first flight, so you can use it either way.

heres the one world policy

  • Connecting between oneworld marketed and operated flights:
    • First and Business Class customers connecting on the same day of travel, or before 6am the following day, can access the lounge when travelling between an international long haul (a oneworld international long haul flight is defined as an international flight marketed and operated by any oneworld carrier with a scheduled flight time longer than 5 hours) and an international short haul or domestic flight (and vice-versa).
    • Lounge access will be determined on the international long haul ticketed flight (either First of Business Class) regardless of the ticketed class of travel on the international short haul or domestic flight.
    • You must be prepared to show your boarding pass or itinerary showing travel in First or Business class on the international long haul flight, in order to access the lounge before your international short haul or domestic flight.

I'm not sure what you think but HKG-CNS is a 7hr flight and is definitly not classed as short haul or domestic.

And what it has to do to original question? I am also curious about this scenario - you arrived in F and nave few hours of layover, but your next fly in J (CX does not offer F to Australia). So are you eligible to visit F lounge? I could not find clear answer either.
