Hello,

Noticed recently that Qatar Auckland - Doha service has been landing in Perth. I know it is one of the longest flights at the moment. Is it due to head winds or something?

The Auckland fuel shortage. Depending on route selected it's landed in either Perth for the southern routes to DOH or ADL for the northern tracks.

what about the VA35 SYD-DPS going through Darwin past few day? Winds as well or the volcano?

They are stopping in Darwin for a fuel top up as a precaution in case the volcano blows and they have to return to Australia. The 737 doesn't have the range to get close to DPS and then return to Australia without a diversion. If they divert the crew are out of hours and would need recovery ops as DPS is the only VA port in the region.
