Meaghan why would you want to fly with Emirates. If anything goes wrong you will find it impossible to reach a solution . I have had a problem with Emirates online booking engine it has taken them over 2 months to fix it even though they were loosing fares. There is a couldnt care less atitude at their customer service where they are not interested .

Not At Emirates, If you have trouble booking through their booking engine, you might as well use a travel agent. The service of their technical support team shouldnt turn you off - their inflight service is better than most. The other thing is, Meaghan's question relates to codeshare flights booked through the Qantas award booking engine not through Emirates themselves.

The problem is that they are adding the Qantas codeshare flights onto their system and they are experiencing problems. You can wait several more days for that to be sorted, or leave this world class airline and travel with an other.

@Not At Emirates, just because you had a bad experience, it does not mean everyone else will. I've been flying Emirates for 3 years and have not had the slightest problems arise.

As for award bookings on Emirates using QFF points, there has been no indication from Qantas nor Emirates on when this will commence.

As of Jan 22 13, Qantas began selling tickets on Emirates flight departing from March 31 (From this site: http://www.qantas.com.au/travel/airlines/qantas-and-emirates-partnership/global/en)

Meaghan, Emirates is the 8th Best Airline in the World ahead of Qantas sitting at number 15 and Virgin Australia at 12th. I have never had a problem with Emirates and I'm sure every airline wants a seamless experience for its passengers.

I have heard that most of what is happening with the alliance between Qantas and Emirates have already been approved and finalised however most of it won't take place till the beginning of April. AusBT will most likely be the first to notify you with information for frequent flyers between the "global partnership" that is "connecting the globe"

I agree, Emirates is one of the best airlines in the world, and offer impecable service. i have never had any problems with them, especially with their customer service department, they always provided quick and swift resolutions. I have travelled the world, spend most of the year travelling, and by far out of all the airlines I used, Emirates has been the best airline for me!

AirportAddict It is not the fact  that I can book Emirates through a travel agent if I can.t use their online booking engine. It is the fact that their customer service department is so bad that if I had a flight with Emirates I could not take the risk if anything went wrong .

If you book through your agent, he/she should be able to sort out anything that comes up.  If not, get another agent!

On the EK v QF debate: EK is miles ahead of QF in P class, I think QF is better in J class except on their 737 trans-Tasman compared to EK 777/380  (maybe both carriers are much the same on straight A380 J class comparison though).

PS I had an EK issue in Rome about 3 months ago, I rang my agent and he had it all sorted straight away.
