I barely made an international connection flight to Melbourne. Upon arrival, I waited for my bag to arrive at the belt. The belt stopped (as all the bags were offloaded), and luckily I caught a glimse of my bag sitting in the middle of a group, about 3m away from the area where they bring out the prams and surfboards. I understand that my bag also barely made the flight, but where did they think I would go to collect a regular bag?
I'm with majority on this. Melbourne is terrible. That's why they have coffee shops right next to the carousels... so you can get a coffee, check emails, have a nap etc... while waiting. But, also as mentioned, the Gold Coast is odd too. Some times it's ok, but others it can take 30minutes from the moment they open the plane doors. Why? I don't know, it's such a small airport. Should be quick.

MEL international arrivals for sure. Bags take ages then the most over crowded arrivals hall is the worst
