I am flying business class Perth to Melbourne, during the red eye
flight, departing 10.35pm and arriving 5.10am (VA696). I am just wondering, if
I will be able to access the lounge in Melbourne after arrival/landing? I have
no gold or platinum status, simply a business class ticket.
Virgin's website states "The Business and Business Class guests
travelling on Virgin Australia domestic flights can access the Virgin Australia
Lounge upon arrival, by showing an eligible same-day itinerary or boarding

I have contacted Virgin to clarify, and they do not believe I have access
to the lounge on arrival in Melbourne. They stated "this will mean upon
arrival to the airport of your outbound travel, lounge access is eligible prior
to your flight only". This seems contrary to Virgin's own policy. Has
anyone else had this issue or have you been able to access the lounge after the

You are allowed access. The Rep is probably just confused. BUT this is one of those 'if available' things so access isn't garranteed so if you bump into a not so friendly agent, you can't argue either.

Yes this means on arrival at Melbourne, the paragraph before the one you copied relates to departures.
