I took advantage of the recent transfer bonus and transfered 50k of amex points over. This is a time sensitive transfer and it's been a day since I transferred. I know velocity says it takes 72 hours but my flybuys transfer took only a few hours. What's your experience on the time it takes to transfer to velocity from Amex? I would love to here the time from other programs too as it might help others!

Flybuys is instant.

Credit cards are transacted during business days and normally appear the next business day.
IE you transfer on a Saturday, Sunday or Monday it will appear on Tuesday. It can appear at anytime during the day.

With the current offer, as long as you action the transaction before midnight on 30th November you will still get the bonus points per the FAQ.

Wonder why that is the case? Why do they not automate credit card transfers like they do flybuys?

Some IT project somewhere may be running over time and over budget - almost all of them do.

On the other hand, is there really such a great rush?
Points transactions will be backdated to the day they are initiated, so you will get your bonus points even if the transfer takes another couple of days.

Unless, of course, you see a reward seat that you need to book right now...
