I will be travelling JFK/LAX/SYD with Qantas in a couple of months and wonder if there are any First Class Lounges that I can access prior to travel?
Yes as a OWE / Platinum member you get access to AAdmiral's Flagship First Lounge in JFK, but not the FF private dining room unless you're actually ticketed in First. In LAX you have access to the Qantas First Lounge which is arguably the best lounge in TBIT and the a la carte dining is terrific (and much better booze selection than the AA Flagship in JFK).
At JFK: As a Qantas Platinum your best option is the AA Flagship lounge, which is in the terminal you'll be flying out of (T8). Turn right instead of left after you enter the lounge for more attentive service and fewer people, as most people turn left.
At LAX: You'll have access to the new Qantas First Lounge in between the two legs. It's a beautiful lounge, but you don't get a taco cart like you do in the qantas business lounge, which you'll also have access to and is right nearby. Might be worth popping in there too for a fairly unique feature of that lounge!

You need to provide us with a bit more information than that. What is your Status with which airline, and what cabin class are you flying in?
