Hi Jmb, there are a few offering COVID cover these days, with Covermore being one of many.
It's not valid in 'do not travel' destinations overseas though (per Smartraveller), which currently counts everywhere in the world except for New Zealand (and the medical cover doesn't apply in Australia, as is standard of travel insurance policies, given the availability of Medicare and private health).
We can currently get domestic annual travel insurance policies with Covermore. When we are allowed to travel internationally, keep in mind those countries with which we have reciprocal Medicare agreements, including NZ, UK, Norway, Ireland, Belgium, Finland, and several more totalling 11 countries. Health cover is easily your most important insurance.

thank you very much Chris. yes i have looked in to this one but am trying to find one that will cover me for travel which i need to do but cannot leave until i have insurance. maybe the Emirates is insurance coupled with AMEX or other card insurance will have to suffice. I am needing international and note that my normal multi trip annual insurance is not valid as, like Covermore, is currently not including any where for DO NOT TRAVEL which for australians is everywhere except NZ. Thank you for the extra info about the reciprocal medicare info for those countries, i knew of UK but not all the other ones. that is excellent for future knowledge, thank you

Wow, that is crazy. I have found many others that are still very reasonable but not inclusive of COVID. I had also seen NIB direct and their premium was nowhere near this rate. it might be worth having a look directly with them
