I am travelling from MEL into ADL and transitting for 1-2 hours before heading off to QLD at the end of this week (weird itinerary I know).
I know SA has quarantine & test requirement for hotspot arrivals into the state and I heard there is a long queue for testing at the airport on arrival (in landside).
I intend to remain airside as I will only be travelling with my carry-on but I am mindful of potentially being delayed getting off the aircraft due to the arrival formalities.
I would be interested to hear from those who recently travelled from VIC/NSW into ADL. Do the health officials greet hotspot passengers at the gate and check their EntryCheck SA permits there, or are passengers checked as they exit airside into landside?
At the gate on arrival from Sydney, cordoned off area for checking before you can access the terminal.
Thanks ACM - did it take long for the officials to go through everyone's passes? Just being mindful of the transit time between my arriving & departing flights.
Depends on how many other flights are arriving around the same time. Has taken me an additional 90 minutes recently as a lot of people didn't have the correct paperwork and proof of vaccination. Best to air for the front of the plane if you can.
