'Day stay' now available at Mercure Hobart, Launceston

The Mercure Hobart and Mercure Launceston hotels are now offering day rates of $65 for stays between 9am and 5pm as part of a new 'Day Stay and Refresh' package aimed at business travellers flying into Tasmania for a long day of appointments, or even driving long distances between cities on the Island State.

The daytime rate stacks up against the hotel's regular rate of around $150 per night – or, we should say, per 24 hours, instead of the shorter 8 hour visit.

The Day Stay and Refresh package comes with free in-room internet, access to the hotel gym, tea or coffee in the hotel lounge for two people and a $15 hotel credit voucher against services such as photocopying, colour printing and binding. You also have the choice between full day car parking or an additional $10 hotel credit voucher.

"Each year Tasmania welcomes approximately 20,500 corporate travellers who fly into the State for the day – generally on the first flight in and the last flight out – which is expected to grow following recent increases in air access" observes Adrian Sampson, general manager of the Mercure Hobart.

"In light of this, we’ve created the Day Stay and Refresh program to cater to the growing numbers of business travellers coming to Tasmania."

“We also understand that many corporate travellers within the State commute between major cities and regional towns with an average drive time of 2-3 hours, meaning an early start and late finish. So it just made sense for us to partner with our sister hotel, the Mercure Launceston to offer the Day Stay and Refresh program for corporate road warriors so that they can relax and revive before the journey home after a long day out of the office.”

For more information or to book a Day Stay and Refresh package, contact Mercure Hobart on (03) 6232 6255 or Mercure Launceston on (03) 6333 9999.

Ha.  "Day Stay and Refresh" being an interesting euphemism for "a bit of playing away from home..."
