Emirates has begun flights from its latest Australian port, Adelaide, where business travellers can now find direct services to Dubai from the City of Churches four times weekly.
Using Emirates' Boeing 777-300ER -- with first, business and economy class on board -- the flights will step up to a daily frequency from 1 February 2013, shortly before the Qantas-Emirates alliance, which begins in April.
Flight EK441 will depart Adelaide at 10.45pm every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday, reaching Emirates' Dubai hub at 5.25am the next day – and from Dubai, of course, Emirates pretty much puts the rest of the world at your feet, with many flights on its flagship Airbus A380.
The return Dubai-Adelaide leg, EK440, is wheels up from DXB at 1.55am for arrival into Adelaide at 8.45pm.

“We are investing in South Australia for the long haul, dedicating a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft to the route fitted with our highest on-board product offering and employing more than 150 South Australians in airline and airport service,” said Salem Obaidalla, Emirates’ Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations, Far East & Australasia.
More flights for Perth still to come...
Emirates will also boost its current double-daily Perth service to a triple-daily from 1 March 2013.
The new EK422/423 service will start on 1 December with five extra flights per week before stepping into daily from March next year.
It'll leave Perth at 3.30pm and reach Dubai at 10.25pm, with the return leg out of DXB at 9.45pm for arrival into Perth at 12.25pm the next day.
That comes on top of the introduction of a daily A380 service from Melbourne, says Emirates Airline CEO Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum.
“The addition of Adelaide to our network and the boost to our Perth operations demonstrates our commitment to investment and growth in our Australian operations and highlights the economic strength and global demand for the two cities as business, leisure and investment destinations."

A great option to consider. For those of us travelling from Europe/UK AND THE Middle East back to Australia and not planning a Stopover in Singapore or Kuala Lumpur going to Adelaide and similarly for the South Australians coming home It Eliminates a long waiting time at the Asian Carriers Home Airport.

I wouldn't be surprised if ADL gets the chop for Nonstops to Singapore on Qantas or gets downgraded to a 737 in the future.Give ME Singapore Airlines and 10 A330's a week over the Australian Carrier.

they are building A380 capable gate as part of the redevelopment. It would be great if Emirates did put an A380 into Perth as the 777 has the worst economy seats of any major airline. Cramped to the MAX!!
