Leading Hotels adds benefits to Leaders Club loyalty program

In brief: Like most frequent flyers, we usually shudder when told that an airline or hotel is enhancing its rewards program. More often than not ‘enhancement’ is shorthand for ‘removing some privileges and/or making others harder to get’.

This is one of those happy exceptions to the rule. The Leading Hotels of the World group, which has over 400 deluxe independent hotels and resorts on its books, is boosting the benefits enjoyed by members of its Leaders Club loyalty scheme.

Leaders Club Access members, who pay US$100 per year to belong to the programme, will now receive free internet access and continental breakfast for two on every day they stay at a Leading Hotel each day. That comes on top of the current benefits such as preferred status for a one-category room upgrade, early check-in and late check-out.

The Leaders Club Unlimited level, at US$1200 per year, now includes membership to the Priority Pass airport lounge scheme for entry into some 600 airport lounges around the world.

Members of both Leaders Club levels will also earn one free night at any Leading Hotel for every five stays (of  a minimum two nights each) completed by December 31st 2011.
