Marriott plans new Westin Darwin hotel for 2020

Travellers to the Top End will find a new luxury Westin Darwin hotel opening in 2020, as part of the chain’s Australian expansion which also includes new Westin properties in Brisbane and Perth.

The 240-room hotel will feature 14 suites with water and city views, along with three internal restaurants and a location within the Darwin Waterfront Precinct for a broader range of culinary choices.

Its location by Stokes Hill Wharf also places the Darwin Convention Centre and the CBD within walking distance via the Darwin Sky Bridge and the Hughes Avenue Walkway, being a 15-minute drive from the airport.

There’ll be an executive lounge for business travellers, along with an “open, airy and well-designed” gym, a resort-style swimming pool, and a spa.

Marriott Rewards members are expected to be able to earn and redeem points on stays at the Westin Darwin, with Gold and Platinum guests enjoying complimentary access to the hotel’s executive lounge.
