Marriott will gain a stylish footprint in Australia's capital with the addition of the new Midnight Hotel to the group's Autograph Collection portfolio.

Located at Braddon and part of the $200 million Midnight residential and commercial development, the Midnight Hotel's chic 'inner city' design should prove a perfect fit for the Autograph Collection's diverse array of over 180 "inspiring, distinctive hotels."

Each of the 199 rooms will boast a Google Chromecast entertainment system piped into a 4K HD Smart TV, with unlimited high-speed WiFi, an espresso machine and complimentary mini bar, plus a walk-in rain shower with Hunter LAB bathroom amenities.

All rooms feature views into a large central garden atrium, landscaped with lush gardens, a cascading water feature and nested seating for guests and residents.

There's also an indoor infinity 20m lap pool with private cabana seating, a sauna and high-tech gym, along with the obligatory restaurant, bar and meeting rooms.

Designed by Australian architects Fender Katsalidis, the Midnight development is a revamp of Braddon's former NRMA House on Northbourne Avenue, and is adjacent to the Elouera Street station of the Canberra Metro light rail which connects the city to Dickson and Gungahlin.

The image of the hotel entrance is giving me W Hotel vibes.

This isn't a revamp of NRMA house. That building was demolished and the new ‘midnight' building constructed. It's great to see another stylish hotel entering the Canberra market.

Yes, the 'revamp' jarred with me as well! A revamp of the site perhaps, but I don't think you'd usually say that when starting again from scratch. Will be good when this project is finished and we might get a period without Mort and Lonsdale Streets being blocked by construction!
