Can’t fly anywhere? Qantas Zoom backgrounds & soundtracks may help

Suffering from 'flying withdrawal syndrome'? We know the feeling. So does Qantas, whose staff have been adding some colour to endless Zoom and Microsoft Teams sessions with an array of virtual backgrounds – and they've now made a selection of those available to download.

The high-quality images range from a business class seat to the cockpit of a Boeing 747 jumbo jet, a view out the window of an Airbus A330 or relaxing on the ground in a Qantas lounge.

(Sadly, there are no images from the much-loved Qantas First lounges at Sydney or Melbourne, or those fondly-remembered Qantas international lounges at Singapore, Hong Kong, London or Los Angeles.)

Frequent flyers can also fire up a custom Qantas soundtrack on Spotify and Apple Music, which contains the airline's familiar signature boarding music created by Australian composer Haydn Walker.

"Our customers tell us they miss flying as much as getting to the destination itself and this sensory experience will help fill the temporary void while some of us can't fly because of border closures," says Qantas Group Chief Customer Officer Stephanie Tully.
