Qantas serves up Moet, lobster and cocktails for Christmas

Qantas is serving up some first class fare for Christmas with a Moet & Chandon Champagne Bar, lobster rolls, Christmas pudding and cocktails, gingerbread cookies and other Yuletide treats.

Qantas' Sydney International First Lounge will feature a Moet & Chandon Champagne Bar including Grand Vintage 2006, Rose Imperial and Imperial Brut NV, while Neil Perry's Rockpool menu will include lobster rolls, brioche with chicken and mayonnaise, organic egg and herbs, macarons from Cacao in Melbourne and teacakes from Brasserie Bread.

Perry's more-ish Christmas puddings, laden with Australian fruit and brandy, will be dished out with a dollop of double-thickened cream in the Sydney and Melbourne International First Lounges and also inflight for first class travellers.

Visitors to Qantas' domestic business lounges can sip a Christmas cocktail of sweet Christmas spice syrup served on the rocks with proseco, mint and strawberry, with White Christmas and Simmone Logue Apricot & White Chocolate Balls in the air.

If you're overseas, Qantas international lounges will have gingerbread Christmas cookies, while the Qantas Singapore Lounge will turn on a traditional Christmas-inspired menu with roasted garlic and rosemary chicken with cranberry sauce and baked potatoes with sour cream and chives.

Qantas says this festive fare will be served across the season, with varying start and finish dates.

For domestic and international lounges and flights, the special dishes will be offered from December 17 -31, with the International First and Business Lounge dishes available from December 19-26, and for international flights on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Travelling with the kids in tow? The Sydney and Melbourne international lounges will have Nickelodeon Zones where the sprouts can do their own thing while you relax over a meal and a glass of wine.

In the mean time, the QF lounge in Perth is serving what can only be described as swill.  I am in business on CX platinum QFF and the most appetising food presented in the QF lounge is the carrots sticks and celery with dips.  I know AJ has sacked Perth international but for goodness sakes how about shutting it and letting CX give it a fair go, or Qatar.  But stop treating us sand gropers like crap.

In fact, the proof of the pudding is in the eating.  Come on AJ, give us sand gropers a fair go, and perhaps a meat selection.  Not just cauliflower mac and cheese that smells like a pair of armoured trousers after the Hundred Years' War.

I just flew QF MEL -DXB in First and no sign of the extra dishes mentioned in lounge or onboard. It also came up in discussion with cabin crew on my flight, and they were not aware either......

Not a big deal either way as I am content enough with a Maggie Beers ice cream tub onboard, but you may want to reconfirm with the original source.
