Video tour & photos: Qatar Airways' luxe London Heathrow lounge

Qatar Airways' new Premium Lounge at London Heathrow piles on the luxury for first class and business class passengers.

It's the first 'premium' Qatar lounge outside of the airline's Doha hub, inspired by the Premium Terminal at Doha International Airport – which is exclusively for use by passengers travelling in First or Business Class.

Qatar currently has four daily flights into London, with a fifth starting March 25.

And we'd have to agree with Qatar's description of the Terminal 4 lounge as more closely resembling "a boutique hotel or private member's club rather than a conventional airport lounge".

The feel is spacious and in most cases the design is refreshingly pared back rather than blinged to the max.

That said, who can resist the odd dazzling, jaw-dropping touch?

This luxe lounge approach extends to the heated mirrors and floors (!) in the private shower rooms, and plush hotel-style towels complemented by luxury brand toiletries and amenities.

Once you've cleaned up you can fill up at the "theatre-style Global Brasserie kitchen" and deli, and fuel up at a Signature Martini bar.

A friend went in there the other day and said it was about the best lounge he had ever been into. Good airline, good lounges and good future!

wow the lounge looks amazing, i guess that is the first class lounge.

it certainly makes the european lounges look very clinical and hospital-ish.
