Starwood & China Southern partner up for point swap

IN BRIEF | A new partnership between Starwood and China Southern has opened up a one-way point swap between their loyalty programs.

Members of the Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) program can convert their Starwood points – earned at properties including Sheraton, Westin, W  Le Méridien and St Regis – into miles with China Southern Airlines's Sky Pearl Club frequent flyer program.

The transfer rate is a straight-forward point-for-mile basis: each Starpoint is equivalent to one Sky Pearl Club mile.

SPG is also running a promotion in which Sky Pearl Club members who are not yet SPG members can earn 1,000 bonus miles on Sky Pearl Club for every eligible stay at a Starwood hotel or resort.

To participate, Sky Pearl Club members must join the SPG program and register at http://www.china-spg.com/csa/register.do from now to 29 February 2012. Hotel stays must occur by 31 March 2012.

In addition, Sky Pearl Club Silver and Gold members will receive SPG Gold status after their first eligible stay at a Starwood hotel during the campaign period.
