Starwood’s rapid expansion in Australia’s major cities continues with plans to open a new-build Aloft Adelaide hotel in early 2018, bringing the Aloft chain to South Australia for the first time and marking Aloft’s third location Down Under.

Forming the centrepiece of New Mayfield – a mixed-use development aiming to reinvigorate inner-city Adelaide – the property will offer 200 loft-like guestrooms and be a brief 20-minute drive from Adelaide Airport.

The hotel will also feature an indoor glass bottom rooftop pool, 500 square metres of flexible meeting space and a 24-hour fitness centre with a rooftop running track.

You’ll also find a near-rooftop bar overlooking the city – directly beneath that glass bottom pool – along with Aloft’s signature W XYZ bar serving up cocktails amidst live music…

… a restaurant, and a convenient grab-and-go kiosk dubbed Re:fuel by Aloft:

“Adelaide is set for major growth over the next few years,” said Sean Hunt, Starwood’s Regional Vice President: Pacific. “We foresee significant business and leisure demand for innovative and design-led hotel options, such as Aloft.”

Aloft Adelaide will also be one of Starwood’s first hotels in Australia to support SPG Keyless, where guests can complete check-in on their phone and head straight to their room – using their phone to unlock the lifts and then the door to their loft.

The new South Australian hotel follows Starwood’s other expansion plans including the opening new Sheraton and Four Points by Sheraton properties in Melbourne and Brisbane last year, respectively, and refurbishing its existing Four Points by Sheraton hotel in Perth.

And there’s even more on the way with a new W hotel for Brisbane, a Westin for Perth, a new Four Points by Sheraton planned for Melbourne and the Aloft Perth Rivervale hotel opening in early 2017.

All we need now is an SPG credit card and guaranteed suite nights using certificates at the point of booking :) Or am I just dreaming?
