Travel in style with these new Montblanc Trolley bags

The sophisticated Montblanc Trolley collection is made to travel and built to last.

Think ‘Montblanc’ and you’ll immediately think of high-quality pens, in particular the flagship Meisterstück (German for masterpiece) line. Watches, from classy dress watches to the sporty TimeWalker series, will probably also come to mind.

What you might not picture would be luggage. But it’s a logical extension for the German luxury brand, given its pedigree in design, craftsmanship and style.

Montblanc calls them trolley bags. In most cases you’ll call them cabin bags. Let’s just split the difference and agree that this is chic carry-on kit for for everything from an overnight business trip to a sneaky weekend getaway.

There are five pieces in the #MY4810 Nightflight Trolley family, which draws its numerical moniker from the height in metres of the Mont Blanc mountain (which in turn not only gives the partner company its name but also its iconic six-Mont Blanc pointed snowcap symbol, representing the mountain’s peak seen from above).

The Cabin Trolley (37 litre capacity) and Compact Cabin Trolley (34L) are best suited to frequent flyers, especially the Cabin Trolley model which includes a front pocket for easy access to your laptop or tablet.

There’s also the smaller Trolley Pilot (33L) – inspired by the space-efficient rolling bags used by the flight deck crew – plus the Medium Trolley (60L) and Large Trolley (90L) for those extended trips where a piece of checked luggage is a necessity.

Regardless of size, all members of the #MY4810 Nightflight Trolley line are made to travel and built to last.

The lightweight yet durable polycarbonate chassis features elegant leather detailing (including the corners and handle) and glide along on four quiet-running ball-bearing wheels made in Japan, with a full 360° rotation.

The robust German-made telescopic handle has detents allowing it to be set at almost any position rather than the two or three of most bags.

Inside are zipped pockets, dividers and laptop compartments to help you stay organised. The three cabin bags also have a dedicated pocket where you can slide in a portable power bank to recharge your tech on the go.

Traditional Montblanc touches include a grooved pattern on the front panel which subtly nods to the signature Montblanc “M”.

The bags – which are all made at Montblanc’s leather goods factory outside Florence, Italy – are available in brushed silver or no-nonsense black, with a luggage tag and personalisation tag in your choice of black, blue or red.

The Nightflight Trolleys complement the Montblanc Extreme 2.0 and Meisterstück Urban series of briefcases, laptop and document cases and backpacks: the former with a sharp ‘technical’ look, while the latter adopts a sophisticated attitude with brushed metal finishes.

Put them together and there’s no longer any excuse for the stylish traveller to tolerate a beaten-up bag.
