I suspect the rule is to stop flyers who flew in during the A.M. returning in the evening, ensuring they are partaking of F&B at their airport hotel rather than the lounge. Certainly there is no ability to conduct an audit once you have entered. Seems petty.

I'm certainly not criticising my seat mate's choice or her right to order it, but were it free she'd have the bottle in hand and the crew would be done. Swiping a mobile terminal takes time (although we can marvel at the tech allowing it).

Thanks Jorge, a definite win for VA Platinums and at least Golds are now accommodated as well. But it is interesting Qantas Frequent Flyers can't access this lounge themselves despite being an Emirates partner. Slightly amusing I guess.

I dropped by The Wing and wasn't overly impressed. Crowded. Posting this from The Pier now - worth it if you have time to get here, it's a significant walk. Very impressive lounge.
