Oh...I've also arrived on Singapore Airlines in economy and used Virgin Gold to use lounge upon arrival in Adelaide.

I have found Virgin to be quite flexible.I arrived in Sydney on Singapore Airlines in business class when I was only on Virgin Silver. They let me use lounge upon arrival without using any of my lounge passes.
