Is Qantas Lifetime Gold status worth aiming for?

Only 49,415 SC left to reach Lifetime Platinum….probably missed another 25,000 out of the tally by traveling other airlines the past 20 years due to better fares. I know this is about Qantas but perhaps Virgin should think about recognising those flyers that have flown a lot with them...

I had a travel bank credit expiring in May. Booked a return business in Feb for an April trip. With COVID cancelled and assumed it would be there. I just looked...gone.
