• This review seems to miss a few points,   I have been on the last row a few times and never notice any restriction on the recline.  The front row is certainly the pick,  but the foot hammock is even less useful that the one in the rest of the seats.   The side bins a...

  • What I find irritating here is that VA do not discriminate from Silver to Platinum around the luggage change. Its another example of why aiming for platinum is so redundant with Velocity.

  • In terms of consistency of product it would be sensible I expect at some point for the VA LAX lounge to move out of the current Emirates space back to the EY lounge once its rebranded to House. Not sure I think this is a good thing. Will have to wait to see what no1 does with the current lounge...

  • I may be a little cynical here. But this reads as though VA are using the opportunity that the SQ transfer devaluation presents. More flyers will keep their points in velocity, and look for any opportunities to use them on VA seats, and in their desperation they will pay this charge. I'd like ...

  • Thanks really like the format of the review. I had been interested to see how QF would structure the service offerings through the flight.   In saying that, not really following the logic of the final recommendation. You would go with Perth for the superior seat because you are sitting in ...

  • If your expectations are that of a standard hotel, then you will be disappointed. The rooms are small and basic when I was there, I found them unbearably hot with no way to adjust the temp. You're not going to want to spend much time in their if you're not sleeping. For my purposes I arrived la...

  • And yet on the VA site there is not one single PE or Business reward seat available on MEL - LAX for the entire of Feb.

  • OneUp success on Air NZ longhaul

    Jan 07, 2019, 09:55 AM

In the past we have nearly always been successful on one up bids from PE to business going AKL to LAX/SFO. We have no status with Air NZ and we bid about 5 - 10% above minimum. Likewise family that have used it for economy to PE have seen similar. Most of the time we did not hear until a few ...

  • From a seat point of view I prefer VA over Air NZ in Y, pitch and width are far superior on VA . Service is about the same. Air NZ has a much better entertainment. If you can afford the extra for Economy X in VA I find it a worthwhile improvement for the extra space. LAX is a lot better than it u...

  • From experience status provides no benefit for increased award availability online for Velocity. I have seen it stated here that the call centre has greater leeway to open up award availability for platinum's, and certainly I have been able to secure seats that I did not see online prior to ca...
