Any word on which a/c is operating with WiFi (the 744s) - I am due to fly SFO-SYD on the 21st and am really hoping to be lucky...

Does virgin have any plans for international lounges? Seems kind of odd to improve the whole experience but to not have any lounges. I guess the whole 'let everyone else do the flying' is really shining through. 

Isn't newcastle poised better to be a relief airport? Even NTL is a stretch. CBR? 1 hour on a train is a damn long time just to transfer to the city.

Wait hold on, I thought the 747-400ERs were getting refurbished. But BNE-LAX doesn't need a ER, or use one (usually).  I heard that there are 3 non ERs getting refurbished then 6ERs getting refurbished. If some are going on BNE-LAX does that mean the refurbished is a normal 747? Im flying ...

I think Virgin just threw International long haul out the window. I wouldn't be surprised if all trans tasman was relegated to Air NZ, all SYD-LAX/MEL-LAX was DL (BNE-LAX cut) and SYD-AUH was taken over by EY.  Great strategy they've got going on there. Whats the point of an international ...
