Cathay Pacific's new regional business class to launch early 2020
Jul 12, 2019, 05:52 PMUnlikely as HAECO has already announced the launch customer will be a Middle Eastern airline sometime in 2020, speculation is that this might be Emirates, but either way I'd say that rules out Cathay as their A321neos will be Q1 2020.

How important is priority boarding on domestic, international flights?
Jun 28, 2019, 11:48 AMHow important is priority boarding to me? Very important, especially when I'm in economy on domestic US flights. Makes a massive difference. International flights, not much of an issue if there is boarding through separate doors such as on the A380 or a Boeing 777, with one door dedicated to busi...

Uber Premium to replace Select, Black, Lux, and SUV rides
Jun 27, 2019, 05:43 PMNot good news! I use Uber Select a lot, and got a lot of free upgrades to a Black HC-plated car. Will be very interested to hear what Uber has to say about what cars and drivers will be categorised as 'Premium'.

Cathay Pacific opens up paid access to more business class lounges
Feb 27, 2019, 04:32 PMThe cost of entry should be geared to suit the lounge. Any of Cathay's new-look lounges like The Pier, Manila, London, Vancouver, Haneda, Bangkok and Taipei are great. I would actually expect The Pier to have a higher entry fee than the others because of its top line facilities. But no way ...

The Qantas-Emirates alliance: four years on...
Mar 30, 2017, 08:23 AMIf Qantas offered me a choice between Dubai and Singapore, assuming both flights on an A380 (or Boeing 787) I'd still choose Singapore, especially if it had a proper first class lounge. Apart from that the Emirates alliance works fine for me, the Dubai lounge is great. But I haven't done QF1 to D...

Emirates premium economy: are they benefiting from being a laggard?
Jul 16, 2019, 09:16 AMI tend to think that the latest premium economy is either the best or among the very best previous economy, purely because an airline can learn from others. I would say that as a seat, the Qantas Boeing 787 premium economy seat is pretty good except for that awful legrest contraption, and of cour...

How long does it take you to get through Sydney international airport?
Apr 25, 2019, 03:31 PMIn cases of both departing from and arriving at SYD T1, how long does it take you to get through and what's your best time? For departing flights this would be from check-in counter to immigration and security and to the lounge, for arriving flights it would be from stepping off the plane to gett...

Qantas Sydney international arrivals lounge
Nov 21, 2018, 01:39 PMOriginally Posted by calmelb If you are a Qantas Platinum/Platinum One/ CL you can use the domestic lounge upon arrival (which I know is pretty much useless for Sydney, but very good for Melbourne), and this is their half hearted effort for an Arrivals lounge Good point, it's easier done in MEL ...

AUSBT Site - Ads
Mar 27, 2017, 10:18 AMIs the EK advert which dominates the very top of the screen annoying? Yes. Would I rather not have it there? No. But would I rather put up with it instead of not have AusBT free and part of my daily reading? Yes!!

Good Qantas status runs
Mar 01, 2017, 02:57 PMQantas has made its Sydney-Bali (Denpasar) flights daily now and this can be a good status run on a 'double status credits' offer in business class. A shame it's only a Boeing 737, I'd much rather spend the six hours in the A330 business class, especially on the overnight return leg of QF44. You ...
