Like Abu Dhabi? Johannesburg? Remember Bali with TT? Swapsies with MEL/BNE-LAX? Even Hong Kong hasn't escaped going from a few days a week to daily, back to a few days a week and now being rumoured to be canned. A long history of long haul flights indeed...

Has already been muted that VA will pull out of SYDHKG. I really do wish VA would stop messing around with international and get some sort of proper strategy for their businesses before flushing money down the toilet.

Problem is this route must be flown within 5 months of award. VA don't have a partnership in place and have yet to have any support in place. From ground crew to catering, servicing of aircraft and sales support.

Jetstar will being flying to Seoul Incheon from Gold Coast beginning Dec 8. Running thrice weekly Wed, Fri, Sun as JQ49. Flight will begin in Sydney, departing INT T1 as a tag flight (or so it’s showing in the system on some days). This will result in end of MELSIN flights.

Its VA's consistent problem. Can't command the fares or have the network to compete, but too expensive to make any money.

The fares have started to fall. Newest sale is for prices from $585. By no means super low but I doubt there are many people paying much more than sale prices for the flights...

because I always feel 'secure' and 'comfortable' when passing through the security theatre of TSA. Its not like there would be a security risk if you were taking someone else's flight for them, you still have to go through security. I'd much prefer our current system as long as security screening...
