    If VA goes with SkyTeam, what happens with Singapore, which is *A? Correct me if wrong, but none of VA's other owners are aligned with any of the big three. It doesn't seem likely that NZ will move to OW - that's a lot of fuss and bother for very little upside (for them).

  • And gaining … kind of everybody else. I hear United is pretty rubbish (haven't flown them in years), but they don't seem that much better/worse than Delta.

  • AC doesn't earn points/status for Virgin though. If I was fine with not getting Velocity points/status, I'd just keep flying AirNZ, which I really like.(and it's AC (eww), and going from domestic to international at SYD and BNE is painful - I'm in MEL).

    Hmm tricky. If I use the KF points to upgrade, that would mean that my KF number is associated with the flight, and I won't get Velocity points/status at all. If I'm not mistaken, points can be transferred, but not status credits. Might need to be satisfied with PE and get the status credits.
