seems like one of those things to file in the WPB, not worth the effort with luggage etc, not bad if you travel light. About time QF looked at this being an "end of line carrier" and long haul specialist, just not sure how to really solve it with luggage unless they added a check in side lounge ...

just don't forget the Canadian ETA even though you are just transiting (technically not entering Canada) they still want both ETA/ETSA. Got caught our on a Cathay via HKG/YVF/JFK

Virgin might join one of the global programs to boost the value of the Velocity points however with long haul still a long way off probably not in any rush. They would be accumulating too many points for just domestic so they will ahve to find a way for members to burn them - only so many toaste...

Have you considered the Vodafone Australia $5 roaming - uses your same SIM and plan just adds $5 for the actual days you use calls/data or text - you would need to check the countries you a re visiting etc.
