Is there any articles on the Ausbt site about how to value a Qantas club visit? These days qantas club offering seems to just consist of a beer and a cheese sandwich and a newspaper, with not many quiet areas to get work done.... Am I missing something?

Good idea, but it doesnt sound like Oneworld is 'thinking big' ... the media coverage refers to a handful of new lounges acoss the world over the next few years. Hard to see Perth making the cut unfortunately

I don't think Emirates and Qantas status match each other (at least that's what Emirates customer service told me a few years ago when I tried), so the only benefit of booking through skywards would be if you're likely to use Emirates much in the future... Not sure how easy it would be to status ...
