Save up to 40% on Qantas Club airport lounge membership

Planning to join the Qantas Club? Then now's the time to act with savings of up to $900 on the total up-front costs for new cardholders.

With plans available for either one, two or four years, this deal cuts around 23% off the price of one-year passes, discounted from $939 to $725.40: including both the base membership price and the separate Qantas Club joining fee.

Spring for a two-year membership and the discount climbs to 28%, bringing the total cost down from $1,379 to $994, while the biggest discount comes on four-year memberships, priced at $1,349.40 – that's just $337.35 per year – a 40% saving off the usual $2,249 price.

You'll also earn 3 Qantas Points per $1 spent on Qantas Club memberships, being approximately 4,048 Qantas Points from that four-year deal: and, if you pay for that purchase using a points-earning credit card, you could be rewarded even more.

For example, using an ANZ Frequent Flyer Black Visa, you'd earn one Qantas Point per $1 spent directly from your credit card (on transactions up to $7,500 per month, 0.5/$1 thereafter), while also picking up one bonus Qantas Point per $1 spent on purchases directly from Qantas (which includes Qantas Club memberships), for an all-out bounty of up to 5 Qantas Points per $1 spent, or up to 6,745 Qantas Points – almost enough to cover a Sydney-Melbourne flight.

But you'll need to act fast: the deal runs only until 11:59pm (AEST) on Thursday May 23, 2019. Wait until Friday morning to join and you'll pay full price!

Renew your current Qantas Club membership at a discount

Existing Qantas Club members can also extend their tenure by renewing their access through this same promotion, even if their current membership remains valid for some time.

A one-year extension costs $486 – down from the usual $540 – while a two-year renewal clocks in at $754.60, versus $980 at full price.

Or, add four years onto your existing Qantas Club membership and pay just $1,110: down from $1,850, and working out to be only $277.50 per year of additional membership.

As with the offer for new Qantas Club members, these prices are available until 11:59pm (AEST) on Thursday May 23, 2019 – after which, the normal pricing returns.

Discounts are not extended to Annual Guest Card purchases, Qantas Club partner memberships or corporate memberships, which already attract varied pricing.

Qantas Club membership benefits

Whether you're a new or continuing member, a Qantas Club card provides access to selected lounges when travelling on a Qantas or Jetstar flight number, while also getting you through the barriers at priority check-in with a boosted baggage allowance on Qantas and Emirates flights.

On Australian domestic flights, that lets you pack 32kg rather than the usual 23kg maximum in economy, while you can bring an extra bag when bound for North and South America in premium economy and economy.

There's no additional allowance when booked in business class or first class on those flights, although you'll get an extra 12kg on all other Qantas international services and also most Emirates flights wherever you choose to sit.

Qantas Club members departing on domestic flights from Brisbane can also make use of Qantas Premium Lounge Entry: a private check-in and security screening channel which emerges in the centre of the lounge precinct, although aren't eligible for priority security screening at other airports.

To sign up, head to the Qantas website, or to renew an existing account, visit this page instead.

"while you can bring an extra bag when bound for North and South America in premium economy and economy" So the usual 2 bag allowance goes up to 3 with E and PE?

Tried to renew but asking me for a corporate scheme number. I'm not part of any corporate scheme. Might need to call.

Renewed for a further four years. Good deal, but somehow my membership was listed as corporate rather than individual. After 5 hours of trying to get through and sorting it out, all good now.

Can't help thinking that membership must be falling off though.

Is there any articles on the Ausbt site about how to value a Qantas club visit? These days qantas club offering seems to just consist of a beer and a cheese sandwich and a newspaper, with not many quiet areas to get work done.... Am I missing something?

Hi PG44, take a look at this article. It's from 2015, but covers some interesting points:

Is paid airport lounge membership worth the cost?
