• I doubt Berlin is on the cards - it has virtually no long haul flights (eg even the ME3 don't fly there) and connections are very poor. Frankfurt is the obvious German hub - a terrible airport but loads of connections and a huge chunk of the German population live within a 2 hour train/drive.

  • Markie77 is correct. As someone who often does Syd- Europe in J with BA I always get over 60k Avios return (depends on exact fare classes). I would also note that you can usually get this route for less than 7k GBP so I would expect a slight drop in the number of Avios earned. The big devalu...

  • Great - the already heaving Virgin lounges are going to be even busier! What is the point of earning Velocity status the hard way when there are so many short cuts (status matches, Amex platinum card etc etc)? • Actually I don't think much has changed regarding First Class lounge access. Qatar and BA have always had carve outs regarding their first lounges (ie not accessible to Emeralds). The BA 'First Lounge' has always been a misnomer - its an Emerald lounge as all First Class passengers would use the ...

The BA First Lounge will be perfect as each QF platinum will be allowed 1 guest - so 3 platinums can bring in the other 3 (NB - BA are quite strict on 1 guest only with no exception for kids over 2).

  • I fly QF flight numbers on Emirates every few weeks and have a lot of issues with points/SCs posting. However, if you complete the Qantas missing points form the points usually appear within a couple of days.
