Not all that surprised with this move, SQ have managed to really maxmise their load factors on the existing 4 services ex-Perth in the last 6 months, impressive considering the additional capacity added moving from A333/B777 to A350/B78X was the equivalent of about 220pax / day each way.

You're right, on the busiest months on a select few weekdays. More and more weekends this year have had zero A330 transcon service. I'd say about a third of the total area (the area furthermost to the east) of the observation deck will be closed off for this lounge. The A320s in the Tiger fleet are very slowly getting converted for use by VARA (The 5th A320 for VARA is due to enter the fleet shortly after it got a re-fit in Singapore a week or two ago), but they don't have the same high density seating as they do on Tiger (162 on VARA vs 180 on Tiger). Despi...
