I have to wonder if Virgin's business travel appeal has not 'topped out' . As of March 2013 this survey puts QF at 71% and Virgin at 58%. Looking back over the two years the lines for QF and VA are almost a mirror image of one another, seems like Qantas' pain is Virgin's pain and vice versa. Mayb...

Madge, no the 787-9s will be for "the Qantas Group" and be shared between QF and JQ, that's been reported many many times. Those will have different seating and configs, JQ will be two class and QF will probably be three-class with a Premium Economy, but QF will get the original JQ 787-8s down th...

SCF: it's been reported many times before that the first 787s, the -8s, go to JQ, and this means their A330s get handed down to QF, but then the second batch from 2016 will be 787-9s which will be split between JQ and QF, but that QF will then get JQ's 787-8s, these will mainly be for domestic us...

I don't see that Lombok would be a very popular route, I think this will be A320 for some time. Surprised to hear Jetstar CEO say Honolulu, Phuket and Tokyo would be among first routes, surely Melbourne-Singapore would be a big drawcard for them!

I can appreciate that David doesn't want to stoke the fires of speculation by making a guess as to what business class seat the Jetstar 787 will have, but I will make a prediction that they will be 'angled lie flat'. The reasons? Seat design and customer expectations have come a long way since...

Al, Qantas has business class to NZ, it's the same as their AU domestic business class, as mentioned in http://www.ausbt.com.au/how-to-get-true-business-class-on-flights-to-new-zealand

Chris, I think you need to be asking the tax refund agency or chasing up ASDA again. If ASDA 'can do nothing' I don't think anybody here can do anything different!

The first one to join and earn points on is Aegean, as this can get you Gold status much faster than any other Star Alliance member. See http://www.ausbt.com.au/how-to-get-star-alliance-gold-vip-status-with-just-one-flight for details.

"Why shouldn't they charge you?" Maybe because you've already paid for the ticket, even though you're not flying. Why should they charge you extra because you didn't fly, when they still have made their hundreds or thousands of dollars? There is NO inconvenience factor to the airline. There's one...

It's not at all a silly question, Tezza. I've been upgraded with Qantas twice from economy to business class while on the plane, both times with a full economy cabin and because of a faulty seat. The first time was when my economy seat was faulty, IFE didn't work, being Platinum they bumped me in...
