• A380s prematurely scrapped.  787 options and purchase rights cancelled...Just think - in a different world, QF could be taking a share of resurgent demand for air travel amid a booming economy.  Instead, it's a barely-relevant bit player.

  • Load factors on QF5/6 to Frankfurt were very high right through to the end.  It's a high yield, business-heavy destination and a far easier connection than LHR.It's strange to be starting routes with little track record, when they had a decades-long presence in Frankfurt until only recently,...

  • How many 787s did Alan Joyce cancel? They could have had those aircraft with great prices and early delivery slots.  But nope...

  • Makes sense.  I stopped hanging on to airline pyjamas years ago.  No point taking just because they're there.

  • To be fair - being HON doesn't mean much unless you regularly fly through a LH hub.  If you do, it's amazing.  But to qualify takes double or triple the amount of flying that gets you P1 on Qantas. And if you don't, you're just a work-a-day Star Gold, which doesn't get you far in Australia.

  • Hi all - I'm booked at the very back of the bus on EK shortly, all on a QF flight number (EK407 + connections to Europe, return). The EK website says "cannot purchase an upgrade" but has anyone had any luck either calling them or asking at the airport? By referring to emerald it sounds like you'll be arriving one a Oneworld flight into Terminal 2? In that case the answer is "nope"!There's a Sheraton and a Holiday Inn at the airport if you want to get a proper room. And there are pay showers air-side in Terminal 1 if you can get there.

  • I'm 87 status credits from lifetime Gold, so I should get there soon. I'm pretty sure I've got at least 18 months Qantas Club membership still to run - it's been sitting there for many years since I last hit Gold. Obviously I'll never need this again.A while back I think someone suggested Qanta...

  • QF status on Iberia/Air Nostrum

    Aug 15, 2022, 06:49 PM

Hi all - any idea if QF status credits are earned on an Iberia-marketed flight which is listed as "Operated by Air Nostrum for Iberia"? Apparently Air Nostrum is a "Oneworld Affiliate" and the QF partner earning site suggested the relevant flight (IB8707) would accrue status. The call centre didn...

  • Welcome to Country?!

    Oct 29, 2021, 08:26 PM

It would be nice if they focussed on getting us from A to B safely and comfortably, rather than indulging in fashionable tokenism. The maps in the QF lounges showing various language groups are fascinating. If they really feel the need, simply tell us whose country we're flying to or over. Make ...
